Biography

Ellen Ekman is an associate with Norburg & Scherp since 2021. Prior to joining the firm, she pursued a career as a judge with the Courts of Sweden. She was appointed the honorary title Associate Judge at Svea Court of Appeal. In addition to her profound understanding of Swedish court procedure, Ellen has experience of a wide range of material law from her career as a judge. Ellen also acquired an in-depth understanding of EU law and procedure as she served as a trainee lawyer at the European Commission, in the cabinet of the Commissioner for Trade.

Ellen holds a Master of Laws degree from Lund University and an LL.M. from UCL (University College London) focusing on public international law, commercial arbitration, litigation and foreign investments. At UCL Ellen was awarded the distinguished Wallenberg and IVA scholarships.

Ellen’s working languages are Swedish and English.
